    New Exciting Opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader in Crawley

    Job Description

    • Lead and manage a team of accounts payable specialists, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
    • Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to deadlines.
    • Review and approve payment batches, reconciliations, and vendor statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Develop and implement accounts payable policies, procedures, and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and operations, to resolve invoice discrepancies, address vendor inquiries, and streamline processes.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for team members.
    • Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and best practices related to accounts payable.
    • Prepare accounts payable reports and analysis for management review and decision-making.
    • The Successful Applicant

    • Minimum of at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, procedures, and best practices.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and systems (e.g., SAP, Xero, QuickBooks, etc.).
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
    • Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
    • May be working towards an accountancy degree
