Job Title : Benefits Officer
Location : Walsall Council
Work Mode : Hybrid (Predominantly remote with occasional office requirements)
Pay Rate : Negotiable
Working Hours : 37 hours per week
Assignment Duration : Until March 2025
Key Responsibilities :
- Processing Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, and Discretionary Housing Payment applications.
- Interpreting complex Housing Benefit legislation and understanding subsidy and performance implications.
- Assessing, processing, and recovering housing and council tax benefits.
- Providing advice, information, and assistance to customers and stakeholders.
- Maintaining financial and other systems according to legislation, government standards, and council policies.
Requirements :
Preferably experienced in processing benefit applications and interpreting legislation.Familiarity with maintaining financial systems and providing customer support.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.Commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Dedication to high-quality customer service and diversity principles.
