Senior Compliance Officer

Hybrid, with two days per week in Romford, with some travel to central London

  • This is a great opportunity for an experienced Compliance professional looking to further their career within a corporate working environment.
  • Full time position : working 5 days a week, with the opportunity to receive training and support towards professional qualifications.
  • Working within a fun, collaborative team, based in Romford and London

Role overview

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Officer to join our busy and fast-paced Risk and Compliance team.

The role will be responsible for leading the retail insurance compliance function, and report directly to the CEO for KGM Underwriting Services (KGMUS).

The role involves a detailed understanding of the FCA Handbook and its practical applicability to a range of business lines. At KGMUS, we work collaboratively to ensure we deliver good outcomes for customers and for our business and an ability to think commercially will be essential.

The role will work alongside KGMUS’s operational business units, as well as interact regularly with the wider DUAL Group’s Risk & Compliance team.

Role responsibilities

  • Provide timely and considered advice and guidance on a range of retail insurance topics. This will include but not be limited to : ICOBSProduct governanceConsumer DutyConduct RiskConsumer lending and the Consumer Credit ActSM&CROperational ResilienceFinancial PromotionsGeneral Insurance Pricing PracticesRegulatory Permissions and Regulatory ReportingOversight of ARs and IARsOwnership of the Conduct Risk Framework for KGMUS, including policies, KRIs and reporting.Responsible for horizon scanning and interpretation of emerging regulatory requirements.Responsible for regulatory change projectsResponsible for the provision of compliance advice to change initiatives across KGMUS.Line management of one team member.Regular liaison with the DUAL Compliance team who will provide support, guidance and oversight.
  • Key requirements

  • Three years’ experience working in retail insurance compliance, preferably in motor
  • Expert technical knowledge
  • Excellent relationship management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team leadership
  • Experience of regulatory liaison.
