Job description

Job summary

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to work as Elective Access Clerks on Saxon Suite. The department sees patients that require medical procedures that are able to be carried out during the daytime rather than having an admission to hospital.

Main duties of the job

1 x part time position = 31 hrs per week

You will have GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade C or equivalent

You will be responsible for providing a full, accurate, efficient and effective service to the Saxon Suite with day to day contact with staff at all levels and have regular patient contact over the telephone and face to face. You will monitor patient target lists (PTL's) and advise the wider team on capacity and demand issues and be responsible for ensuring patient pathways are updated and patient admissions and discharges recorded. You will deal with patient queries on a daily basis.

The Saxon Suite is a dedicated treatment unit based within a clinical area on Dixon Ward at Lincoln County Hospital . We are looking for a full time enthusiastic, flexible and motivated team player to be part of this dedicated unit. The successful applicants must have be patient focused and be able to liaise with staff at all levels.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English (Grade C or above) or NVQ2 or equivalent in relevant subject

Desirable

  • NVQ3 or equivalent in relevant subject
  • AMSPAR medical terminology
  • ECDL or CLAIT or equivalent
  • Previous clerical experience

    Essential

  • Clerical experience
  • Working with the public in a customer care position.

  • Call centre type experience Reception type experience
  • Knowledge, skills and aptitude
