Senior Python Developer, VP

The Credit Risk Technology team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President (VP) - Python Developer to join our growing technology team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable solutions using Python, with a focus on development in Pre-Settlement Risk impact analysis and data lineage areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a good understanding of financial services.

Team Background

The Credit Risk Technology Team is responsible for delivering Counterparty Credit Risk Management software solutions to Citi’s Risk organization which manages Citi’s exposure to financial institutions, governments and corporates that trade with Citi. The team builds and maintains software used to compute metrics that help mitigate Citi’s exposure to counterparty default. The solutions include consumption of trades, collateral, market data, counterparty and security reference data from over 50 sources, and the computation of optimal margin allocation for portfolios and trades, haircut for security and cash collateral, trade and collateral liquidity, collateral concentration levels and wrong way risk, amongst others that feed into the computation of Pre-Settlement Risk (PSE), Settlement Risk, Exposure at Default (EAD) and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA).

What you’ll do

• Full Stack Development : Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Python-based applications and systems, covering the entire software development lifecycle.
• Collaboration & Communication : Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (business analysts, data scientists, etc.) to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and participate in code reviews.
• Code Quality & Best Practices : Write clean, efficient, well-documented code, adhering to coding standards and best practices. Contribute to the development of these standards.
• Testing & Optimization : Develop and execute unit and integration tests. Optimize application performance and scalability.
• Problem Solving & Maintenance : Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly and efficiently.
• Mentorship & Guidance : Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
• Compliance & Security : Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and security policies.
