Do you have the leadership skills to guide multi-disciplinary teams and the technical insight to manage complex infrastructure builds? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Project Manager to join a growing civil engineering business with a strong presence across the East of England. This role will see you lead major waterways and heavy civil engineering projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and sustainability. This is a permanent, full-time role based across the Cambridge and Peterborough corridor, so local knowledge and proximity are essential. Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage the successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects in the water and heavy civils space, from inception to handover.
- Oversee on-site operations, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with health & safety regulations.
- Coordinate internal resources and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing site team.
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders including designers, suppliers, and the commercial team.
- Proactively manage project risks, change management, quality assurance, and financial reporting.
- Champion a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility on site. What We’re Looking For :
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the civil engineering sector, ideally with a focus on water infrastructure, heavy civils, or environmental / waterways works.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts (NEC preferred), and project controls.
- Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and programme targets.
- Relevant industry qualifications – ideally HNC / HND or degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Full UK driving licence – travel to multiple local sites will be required. What’s on Offer :
