Ricardo Rail UK is currently looking for a dedicated and well-organised Team Leader.

As the Team Leader of a range of experienced consultants, you will lead a mixed team of project, systems, RAM, safety engineers and project managers responsible for delivering consulting and certification services.

Lead a team of consultants, focusing on wellbeing, personal development, driving high levels of engagement, and ensuring team members have optimum workload levels.

About you

As a Team Leader, you are passionate about leading a team and providing technical service delivery to Ricardo and its clients consistent with your area of expertise.

Responsibilities

As a Team Leader, you will :

  • Provide services to clients and their subcontractors consistent you’re your areas of technical expertise. Discover your team members’ strengths and help play them in position.
  • Ensure individual and collective recognition and praise is provided.
  • Get to know your team members and demonstrate genuine concern by regularly checking in on their wellbeing and treating them as individuals.
  • Support your team members in the development and regular review of annual SMART goals (commercial and personal development), including participation in annual performance appraisals.
  • Lead by example in the areas of disciplined performance, planning, preparation, feedback, following QA, checklists, demonstrating integrity, etc.
  • Address performance concerns early, leveraging HR and senior leadership support.
  • Coordinate learning and development needs with HR.
  • Be a conduit of corporate messages and providing feedback from team members to more senior managers.
  • Support recruitment activities where required, including attendance at interviews and candidate selection.
  • Demonstrate a high level of experience and the ability to work within the team to share experiences and work with team members to resolve problems or issues.
  • Engaging a diversified team, such as – homeworkers, remote workers, part-time employees etc., bearing in mind individuals’ circumstances.
  • Coach and support team members in areas where this will help to develop the individual and deliver high quality services for the client.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Applicant should be minimum at senior consultant level.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at various levels.
