Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Team Manager, Sandwell Council, Children in Care Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The responsibilities will include :
- Manage a team of no more than four Social Workers and one Social Care Assistant.
- Reduce capacity for current Team Managers and enable robust management oversight which leads to timely and effective interventions and outcomes for children.
- Responsibility for a complex caseload of children and young people, conducting a range of assessments whilst listening to the views of the children and young people they are supporting.
- Using best practice and ensuring all legislative requirements are met, delivering high quality children’s plans in a proactive and timely manner, with a strong emphasis on the child’s voice.
- Empowering children, young people and their families / carers by listening to their views.
- Provision of good quality written reports suitable for a varied audience.
- Responsibility of casework for Children in Care, those subject to Child Protection plans, subject to Child in Need plans and Court proceedings.
- 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
- 3 month Temporary Contract.
- Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.
