Job description

Our client, a leading national law firm, is currently seeking an accomplished Property Litigation Solicitor with a wealth of experience (6+ PQE) to join their agriculture team in Oxford, at the Managing Associate level.

Collaborating closely with the lead Partner and a forward-thinking team, the successful candidate will be immersed into the intricate world of agricultural law, handling a diverse array of high-value farming and land matters at both regional and national levels. As a trusted advisor, you will work in tandem with colleagues in the wider real estate team, as well as those in other departments such as energy and development, to ensure optimal legal and commercial solutions are consistently delivered.

This role offers more than just career progression; it presents the chance to take on responsibilities that foster growth as a senior lawyer and potential future leader within the organisation. The firm’s ambition is matched by a culture that values and enriches your professional journey throughout your career.

The ideal candidate should possess substantial senior-level experience in rural affairs. We anticipate a minimum of 6+ years’ post-qualification experience in handling property litigation matters for agricultural and rural clients.

Litigators should have a background in handling :

  • landlord / tenant disputes,
  • farming partnership disputes,
  • nuisance claims,
  • right-of-way disputes,
  • landed estate work,
  • contentious receivership work,
  • regulatory disputes related to rural land,
  • supporting other teams across the firm in areas such as development, renewables, and natural capital.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be adept at building rapport with clients, referrers, and internal stakeholders. Active engagement in business development opportunities and a keen understanding of clients’ commercial needs will be key.

In return, the firm is resolutely committed to collaborating with the chosen candidate to unlock their potential and facilitate the realisation of their career aspirations.
