Job Description :

Lead Data Analyst sought to join a small but exceptional Systematic Investment firm (Mid-Frequency Quant Hedge Fund), as they transform the way they use Data across the business.

My client is a highly respected Systematic Hedge Fund with around $10BN in Assets under Management and a track record dating back to the mid-90s. They employ around 200 staff, all based in London, and are known for their open, respectful, collaborative, and non-siloed culture—leading to high staff retention.

The role involves leading a team of Data Analysts in a 50 / 50 hands-on and managerial capacity, transforming the team from operational tasks to proactive, technical work. You will collaborate with Quantitative Researchers to deliver clean, structured, and scalable data, primarily automated. The team sources new data sets, evaluates, onboard, and monitors data quality and usage, ensuring reliability for alpha research and trading strategies.

  • 5+ years' experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in a systematic Hedge Fund or similar Quantitative Trading environment, supporting Alpha Research and Signal Generation.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, capable of upskilling a small team and guiding them towards more technical roles.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and tools like dbt, Snowflake, AWS S3, KDB, and SQL Server.
  • Deep understanding of financial instruments such as Equities, Futures, Forwards, CDS, IRS, and ETFs, with expertise in at least one asset class.
  • Experience with market data licensing, vendor relationships, and leading or coaching technical teams.
  • Passion for impactful business solutions, code quality, data integrity, and building scalable, robust systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading Systematic Investment firm with a positive working environment. The role involves partnering with Quantitative Research and leading a team to enhance automation and self-service capabilities. Please apply or contact [emailprotected] for more information.
