About the service

Our Blantyre Housing Support Service offers a vibrant and supportive environment for both our team members and the individuals we support. The service is dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centred care for individuals with complex needs, including physical disabilities and communication support requirements.

At this service we currently support two sociable, friendly women who love getting out and about and making the most of their week. Their regular routine is full of activities, including a local social club, karaoke and lunch outings, and Friday night discos. They also enjoy storytelling sessions and physio, including rebound therapy, which supports their health and wellbeing.

Both women are part of a wider friendship group within our service. With support from staff, they make plans and organise a variety of fun activities. From barbecues and pamper nights to music evenings and day trips, there’s always something happening and plenty of opportunities to socialise.

This is a role where you’ll help create meaningful days for the people we supportwhether that’s through everyday outings, big events, or simply supporting friendships to flourish. If you’re friendly, supportive, and looking for a varied, people-focused role, this could be the perfect fit for you.

As a key team member, you will provide 1 : 1 support to individuals, assisting them in their daily lives and encouraging them to achieve personal goals both at home and in the community. Building trusting relationships is essential for success in this role. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Supporting personal care, household tasks, medication administration, meal preparation, and financial management.
  • Providing companionship and fostering meaningful interactions.

Promoting independence and individuality, aligned with each person’s Support Plan.

  • Accurately recording daily activities and maintaining detailed records.
  • Collaborating with team members, families, and individuals to ensure clear communication and consistent care.
  • What's the Shift Pattern?

Our Blantyre service provides 24 / 7 support, so shifts include early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight.

This is a lone-working role, with a rota that includes :

    Early shifts typically between 7 : 30 AM and 3 : 00 PM

    Late shifts usually between 2 : 30 PM and 10 : 00 PM

    Wakened night shifts from 9 : 45 PM to 7 : 45 AM

    Longer day shifts available between 8 : 00 AM and 10 : 00 PM

Your rota will be planned in advance, with a mix of shift patterns across the week.

If you'd like to find out more about the role or the service, please contact the Service Manager, Dawn Dickson, on 07973 733 951.
