HGV Highways Operative – Ivybridge

Our clients are looking for a Highways Operative to join their hardworking dedicated team in Ivybridge.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.
  • Use technology (tablets / apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
  • Drive / operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the for the day to day tasks set.
  • Take responsibility for vehicles / plant / materials in your charge.
  • Where appropriate provide direction / supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.

Essential Skills :

  • Clean driving License.
  • A commitment to Health and Safety.
  • Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
  • CSCS Card.

    • Desirable Skills :

  • Highways experience.
  • HGV licence.
  • New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA).
  • Operative Accreditation Lantra 12d.
  • Winter Works

    • Rate of Pay :

  • per hour depending upon experience.
  • These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from.
  • Accrued Holiday Pay from day one.
  • Pension contributions (after a qualifying period).
  • Weekly Pay.
  • No Umbrella payments or fees.
  • Only Tax and National Insurance deductions and this will be shown on your payslip.
