Teaching Personnel are partnering with a vibrant school in West Sussex catering to pupils aged 7-19 with SEMH needs. We are seeking a passionate Primary SEMH Class Teache r to join their team and deliver engaging, tailored learning experiences.
About the School :
The school focuses on developing key literacy and numeracy skills to support a broad and dynamic curriculum. Situated in a rural location with extensive grounds, the school places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning through subjects such as Horticulture, Forest School, and Horse Riding and Equine Studies. It also offers a variety of active, practical, and creative subjects, including Science, PSHE (Personal, Social, and Health Education), Physical Education, Art, Textiles, Ceramics, ICT, Food Technology, and Drama. Pupils are encouraged and supported to achieve recognised and accredited qualifications in most subjects, with the primary aim of maximising successful outcomes for every young person by the end of their placement.
Pupils actively contribute to the running of the school through representation on the School Council and through discussions and debates held during morning tutor sessions and PSHE lessons. They benefit from small class sizes, typically comprising a teacher and at least one teaching assistant, ensuring a strong focus on individual welfare. The school also provides pastoral support through trained and experienced Well-Being Mentors based in the Well-Being Hub. These mentors support pupils with personal and pastoral needs, maintaining close communication with parents, carers, and external agencies such as children’s social services, CAMHS, and therapy services.
