Position : Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Location : Stockport

Start Date : January 2025

Salary : £70-£90 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract Type : Full-time, Temporary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Stockport. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience or an interest in working with students who require additional behavioural support to help them thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Supporting students with behavioural difficulties both inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Implementing strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Assisting students in overcoming challenges to engage with their learning and stay focused during lessons.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor support and track progress for students with behavioural needs.
  • Offering one-to-one or small group support to students who may need additional help managing behaviour and building self-confidence.
  • Encouraging positive communication, respect, and collaboration among students.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff and parents when necessary.

What We’re Looking For :

  • Experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour, either in a school setting or through voluntary work.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students who require additional support.
  • Ability to create a positive learning environment where students feel safe and supported.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
