Penguin Recruitment is delighted to recruiting for a multidisciplinary Planning, Landscape, and Environmental Consultancy. This small reputable company is looking for a passionate Senior Town Planner to join their growing team, in York. Established for nearly 20 years, they operate across a wide range of sectors including Residential, Energy and Waste, and Industrial. Key aspects of their planning services include pre-planning, applications, and appeals.

The Role : Responsibilities :

  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and pre-application enquires for exciting projects.
  • Leading project teams, building relationships with new and existing clients, and identifying potential sites for development.
  • Undertaking regular community engagement, committee meetings, and public examinations.
  • Conducting research and undertaking planning appraisals to establish the development of potential of sites.
  • Writing high quality reports with recommendations.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior members of the team.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have :

  • Substantial planning experience, preferably within a consultancy environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering planning process services, including the preparation and submission of applications and appeals.
  • Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
  • An RTPI accredited degree.
  • A full driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
