Job descriptionProfessionally qualified and registered RICS Land and Property Surveyor. Strong experience in managing commercial properties, valuations, and negotiations. Excellent knowledge of property legislation, market trends, and RICS guidelines. Ability to work independently, meet targets, and manage budgets effectively.
Job Title : Commercial Property Surveyor / Valuer Working Hours : 37 hours per week
Location : Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council (Hybrid - 3 days on-site)
Pay Rate : Negotiable
Duration : 2 months (with potential extension) About the Role : Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Surveyor / Valuer to join our Commercial Development & Economic Growth team. Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the Council's land and property portfolio, including lease renewals, rent reviews, new lettings, and dilapidations.
- Carry out property valuations and end-of-year Asset Register reports.
- Handle cases related to acquisitions, disposals, easements, licenses, agricultural tenancies, and more.
- Negotiate covenant consent cases and prepare for arbitration, acting as an expert witness when needed.
- Provide expert property advice in meetings and contribute to future property strategies.
