JOB TITLE : Senior Manager, Chief Control Office

SALARY : £93,908 – £110,480

LOCATION(S) : London, Edinburgh or Birmingham

HOURS :  Full time

WORKING PATTERN : Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

Our Chief Controls Office (CCO) is a core part of the Group COO Chief Operating Office. We’re on an exciting journey and there couldn’t be a better time to join us. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and forward-thinking senior manager to join the GCOO Chief Controls Office. In this role, you will :

  • Lead enterprise-wide key initiatives to improve our non-financial control environment.
  • Embed control by design and advance control automation
  • Support robust risk management in alignment with the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).
  • Support in identifying opportunities to simplify, optimise, and automate controls using innovative technology.
  • Support in achieving strategic goals and delivering faster, more efficient services for our customers.

The role may lead a team of control management professionals who manage the design, optimisation, process mapping, testing and monitoring of the control environment.

What you’ll need

  • Leadership : Ability to inspire and lead a team towards achieving strategic goals.
  • Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Strategic Thinking : Capability to think ahead and plan for future control needs and improvements.
  • Problem-Solving : Aptitude for identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
  • Collaboration : Working effectively with other areas and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability : Being flexible and open to change, especially in a challenging environment.
  • And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Risk and Control Management : Robust understanding of the Risk and Control Management Framework with practical control management knowledge and experience.
  • End to End Risk and Control mapping - Delivering prescribed outcomes by working with established control design, mapping, monitoring and testing approaches.
  • Control by Design (CbD) – An understanding of the Control by Design Methodology.
  • Knowledge of tech-related risks - for example data, security, technology, resilience, third party.
  • Agile Methodology – Understand and role model ways of working to drive growth mindset, transformation and end to end design thinking.
