About Our Client
On-going Part Time Temporary Position for a Management Accountant in Redhill.
Job Description
You will be responsible for ensuring month end deadlines are met, processing the payroll journal and lead on the reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts and bank accounts.
You will be responsible for the preparation and submitting of monthly pension returns and quarterly VAT returns.
You will lead on the preparation of monthly management accounts, provide cover and deputise for the Head of Finance.
Lead on the month end timetable working with colleagues in the team to ensure deadlines are adhered to
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and as part of the preparation of the annual accounts
Prepare and process the monthly pension returns
Prepare and process the quarterly VAT return
Post payments from the bank statement and reconcile the bank accounts on a weekly basis
Process the monthly payroll and timesheets journal, accruals, prepayments
Prepare the monthly budget holder reports and assist the Head of Finance with the overall preparation of the month management accounts
Along with the rest of the Finance team answer queries from colleagues across the organisation and as part of the annual audit.
Manage the Chart of Accounts and maintenance of the finance system
Processing of company card transactions onto the finance system on a monthly basis.
Cover some of the Head of Finance responsibilities during their absence to include reviewing BACS payments, submitting membership Direct debit payments and dealing with queries from staff.
The Successful Applicant
Understanding of finance accounting IT systems
Understanding of how the VAT partial exemption calculation works
Understanding of Office 365, Teams and Sharepoint
Understanding of restricted funds
Understanding of working with budget holders and managers that may have limited financial knowledge
Recent experience of preparing and processing monthly journals including payroll and income.
At least 2 years recent experience in a management and / or financial accounts role
Knowledge and experience of working in the charity or non for profit sector
Experience of charity finance accounting
Recent experience in preparing and reviewing budget holder reports and management accounts.
