YOUR IMPACT

An opportunity has arisen in Global Tax for a tax professional to advise the firm’s front office, primarily the alternative investments platform within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Goldman Sachs is one of the leading investors in alternatives globally, with over $450 billion in assets and more than 30 years of experience. The business invests in the full spectrum of alternatives including private equity, growth equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, hedge funds and sustainability. This position will involve significant interaction with people in the business and Global Tax, and will require strong transaction management skills. Primary responsibilities

  • Advising businesses in Goldman Sachs Asset Management on tax consequences related to alternative investment funds and deals
  • Working with, and challenging the input from, external advisors
  • Liaising with other tax colleagues within the firm, particularly in the US

Required qualifications, experience and skills

  • Professionally qualified – Lawyer or ACA / CTA
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification tax experience at a leading firm
  • Strong technical UK tax knowledge
  • Experience of cross-border transactions and structuring, including knowledge of tax regimes in other European jurisdictions and the USA (US experience preferred but not required)
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence senior business stakeholders and make decisions
  • Flexible and able to learn quickly
  • Highly motivated team player able to work in a fast-paced environment
