Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Inspire students to develop strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Differentiate learning to meet a wide range of student needs and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and whole-school literacy initiatives.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation, and achievement.
  • Participate in wider school life, including clubs, events, and CPD.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • QTS and a degree in English or a related subject (essential).
  • Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting (preferred).
  • Strong classroom management and a student-centred approach.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Passion for reading, writing, and developing student voice.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • Willingness to take part in department initiatives and school improvement.
