Job Description :
The Engineering Team Leader is required for a market-leading manufacturer who is growing and investing. They are a successful independent company offering a personable working environment along with opportunities for training and progression.
The successful Engineering Team Leader will need to have a formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds, ONC / HNC or equivalent and experience of supervising / managing a team.
The role will centre on managing, leading, and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems. A key element of the role is to manage, coach, and mentor direct reports including Apprentices by modelling best practice and demonstrating how to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage all maintenance engineering activities whilst on shift.
- Manage, lead, and supervise a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems.
- Model best practice and demonstrate how to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure that maximum uptime is achieved by using exacting engineering standards in the most efficient ways possible.
- Aid the Engineering Manager in ensuring engineering solutions are put in place to permanently fix breakdowns / failures and that the root cause is identified and addressed.
- Ensure continuous improvement with regards to planned preventative maintenance (PPM), including reporting on the overall effectiveness of the system.
- Undertake and assume responsibility for key elements of engineering projects and ensure all tasks are completed on time, as instructed by the senior engineering management team.
- Ensure that all procedures relating to health and safety are employed by all engineering personnel and contractors.
- Provide training and ad hoc guidance and support to engineers and engineering apprentices to increase their skills and knowledge base.
Minimum Requirements :
