Job Description

Under the limited direction of the Executive Director :

  • Provides direct confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Director and Assistant Director, Conservation and Ecosystem Management.
  • Manages the office of the Executive Director (Directorate); coordinates and provides administrative assistance including support to other staff within the processes to the Directorate.
  • Prioritises and coordinates all incoming and outgoing Ministerial correspondence, Parliamentary questions, Deputy Director General correspondence, Director General correspondence, and correspondence by the Executive Director.
  • Provides a liaison and coordination role across the department and with external individuals and organisations on behalf of the Executive Director.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following three (3) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.

  • High level experience in providing confidential administrative support at a senior executive level.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with external organisations, government departments, statutory authorities and other agency staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to set and meet work priorities and delegate appropriately to achieve outcomes within set time frames.
