Job description

A salary up to £39,, London Based, 2 days in the office a week.

The Talent Set are recruiting for a Press Officer role for a very well-known health membership organisation who work with leaders in their respective field. This role will play an instrumental part in helping to shape the communication strategy of the organisation when communicating with internal and external stakeholders, keeping reputational risk at the forefront of their mind.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media statements, and briefing materials for senior spokespeople.
  • Manage a very busy reactional press office with some key projects upcoming.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders highlight risks and ensuring brand tone of voice.
  • To operate in a cross-functional team to ensure digital platforms are aligned with media activities.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on key campaigns, initiatives, and events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure messaging is aligned and consistent across all communications.

Person Specification :

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content under pressure.
  • Experienced in a health institution or health related charity.
  • Extensive experience working in a fast-paced media and communications team.
  • Proven track record in delivering high-quality media relations and communications services.
  • Experience building relationships with media outlets and successfully placing stories in regional and national press.
  • Skilled at identifying opportunities in the news agenda, handling reactive queries, and managing reputational risks.
