Machine Operative, Holmfirth

The Best Connection are currently seeking Machine operatives for a Manufacturing and distribution company in Huddersfield (HD9) area.

Hours of work

This is a night shift position but the 1st 4 weeks training will be on days

Normal day shift is 44 hours per week : Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 6.00pm, Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm. Normal night shift is 44 hours per week : Monday - Thursday 12 hours shifts (6-6, 7-7, 8-8)

Responsibilities of the Machine operatives

• Operate machines following the correct operating procedures to achieve specified target output and product quality standards
• Using a counterbalance FLT with fork, boom and clamp attachments, safely move raw materials and finished goods to and from the machines
• Training will be given to the right candidate)
• Adopt Lean Manufacturing techniques and be proactively involved in improving process performance and quality
• Ensure that raw material, bought in goods and manufactured products meet quality standards
• Inform the Operations Manager or relevant supervisor of machine or product problems or potential problems
• Manual handling
• Accurate and timely completion of company paperwork
• Maintain a clean and tidy environment
• Work as part of a team showing flexibility to assist in other duties and tasks as required
• Show flexibility in working hours, including overtime to meet business needs
