Job description

Role : Mainframe Testing Engineer

Location : Sheffield

Job Description

Should have prior experience working in HSBC.

Primary skills : QA Testing Automation, REXX, JCL, z / OS

Nice to have : Basic understanding of Ansible, Basic understanding of Batch Scheduling software (IBM Z Workload Scheduler, CA7 Workload Automation, Control-M, ZEKE)

Responsibilities :

  • Write manual test cases and develop automation covering each case
  • Write test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures based on requirements and specifications provided
  • Perform workflow analysis and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, product owner and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of test cases and test automation
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the testing process, uplifting it as per industry standards

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mainframe testing
  • Strong knowledge of coding with REXX and JCL language
  • Ability to perform application testing of a closed source product
  • Knowledge of test automation tools, methodologies, and standards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills
  • Working knowledge of Confluence and Jira

  • Ability to maintain control over project responsibilities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of banking industry
