Full time permanent

Location : London (Hybrid – 4 days in office)

We’re hiring for an Operations Associate to join Checkatrade LABS - our fast moving innovation team where we test, launch, and scale new business models, products and services.

Checkatrade LABS is where bold ideas meet rapid experimentation. We’re the innovation engine inside one of the UK’s best-known home improvement brands, working like a startup to challenge the status quo, test new business models, and launch products that shape the future of how people connect with trades. It’s not about small tweaks, it’s about reimagining what’s possible, moving fast, and turning sparks of possibility into real-world impact. We’re here to break the mould, ask the hard questions, and create the next generation of marketplace experiences that people didn’t even know they needed yet.

What You’ll Be Doing

This isn’t a standard ops role. You’ll sit at the centre of strategy, product, and data, helping shape new ideas, drive launches, solve meaningful problems, and push projects over the line. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, and operators, turning concepts into live products that make a real impact. We’re looking for someone at the start of their career, a sharp thinker who’s naturally curious, analytical, and proactive. You should be comfortable working with data (Excel required, BI tools a bonus), asking smart questions, spotting patterns, and helping the team focus on what matters. You’ll need to be organised, clear in your communication, and eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

What do you need to succeed?

  • A high-potential recent graduate or early-career professional with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, you love tackling complex challenges and coming up with smart, well-reasoned solutions.
  • Naturally analytical - you’re confident working with data, spotting trends and extracting meaningful insights, even if you’re still building experience with advanced tools like BI or SQL.
  • A proactive self-starter - you take ownership, navigate ambiguity with ease, and make things happen without waiting for someone to hand you the playbook.
  • Highly organised and an excellent communicator - you can manage multiple workstreams, collaborate effectively across diverse teams, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deeply curious with a growth mindset - you’re driven to learn, experiment, and constantly raise the bar for yourself and the work you deliver.
  • Bonus points for prior experience (internships, grad schemes or early roles) in fast-paced, high-performance environments like consulting, tech, or startups - but above all, we’re looking for raw potential and ambition.

This is just the beginning. At Checkatrade, you won’t just be joining a team, you’ll be stepping into a launchpad for your career. You’ll have access to leadership programmes, mentorship from top talent, and the chance to work side by side with some of the sharpest minds in tech and innovation. From day one, you’ll be making a real impact : shaping products and projects that touch millions, stretching your thinking, and accelerating your growth. If you’re hungry to push boundaries, build something meaningful, and fast-track your development, this is where you make it happen.
