Our client is a well-established UK-based automation specialist headquartered in Bedfordshire , delivering bespoke engineering solutions to a wide range of UK and international manufacturing businesses—primarily within automated warehousing. With the capability to deliver full end-to-end solutions—from design through to commissioning and support—they are known for their engineering excellence, innovation, and customer-first approach.

The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer , you will play a key part in help design and engineer hardware solutions for all types of automation projects. You'll also be responsible for schematics, engineering calculations, BOM’s and design documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and interpret customer / process requirements.
• Prepare functional design specifications and user manuals.
• Design electrical systems using EPLAN 22-24 , including 3D layout drawings.
• Create accurate Bills of Materials (BoMs) for procurement and documentation.
• Collaborate with design and controls engineers to meet overall system needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety directives and technical standards.
• Occasionally travel for customer meetings and site support.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
