Job description

Rutherford Briant are currently recruiting for a Client Accountant for a highly successful, ever-growing property management and consultancy firm based in Central London who are looking for an experienced accounting professional to join their team on a permanent basis with great progression prospects.

Our client is ideally looking to recruit a Client / Service Charge Accountant who is working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / AAT), who possesses previous experience within the real estate sector, strong Excel skills and a strong interest in working within residential / commercial property management.

They are offering a competitive salary between  £40,000 and £50,000  depending on experience, as well as a wide range of excellent benefits including hybrid working, study support, private healthcare, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, a clear route for progression and more!

What you will do :

  • Producing the service charge year-end accounts and budgets.
  • Assist with monthly service charge reports.
  • Setting up accounts and budgets onto the system.
  • Checking balances.
  • Quarterly reconciling client statements.
  • Demand raising - monthly and quarterly.
  • Quarterly cash reconciliations.
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing tenants / leases.
  • Daily transactions.
  • Quarterly VAT report.
  • Purchase Ledger & Credit Control.
  • Liaising with clients for all service charge related queries.

What you will need :

  • Prior experience within client / service charge accounts, or within practice.
  • Studying towards professional qualifications (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / AAT).
  • Previous experience within property / real estate (preferred).
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Competent with accounting software packages.
  • Understanding of property management software (ideal).
