Skanska Building Services provides complete Facilities Management of schools, colleges, and universities throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.

We are looking for a Mobile Multi Skilled Fabric Engineer to join the team on our Essex Schools contract maintaining 4 schools located in Basildon, Chelmsford and Canvey Island.

The purpose of the role will be to carry out predominately Fabric related works as well as minor mechanical & electrical services, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive Works in time to meet strict KPI’s.

An Enhanced DBS clearance is a requirement for the role

What you'll do :

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive works in adherence to set engineering standards
  • General duties will require multi skilled discipline to carry out work such as repairs to walls, doors, frames and associated fixtures, carpentry repairs, painting & decorating, re-lamping luminaires, minor electrical and mechanical maintenance and L8 testing
  • Check and inspect mechanical services, plant and systems.
  • Carry out fault finding and plant adjustments
  • Respond to re-active works as and when required

What you'll bring to the role :

  • City & Guilds / NVQ / BTEC level or similar in a related discipline
  • Building Maintenance experience
  • Multi skilled capability.
  • Good Understanding of compliance
  • Forward thinking pro-active approach.
  • Able communicate effectively and efficiently with colleagues and clients at all levels.
  • Demonstrable client customer facing experience.
  • A ‘Can do’ attitude and ability to work under own initiative vital to this role along with a desire to deliver 1st class engineering and client satisfaction.
