Salary : £25,000 - £27,000 per annum plus additional performance related bonus.

InStore works with retailers, suppliers and publishers providing field-based Merchandising & Marketing, Supply Chain Auditing and Compliance solutions.

This role involves driving new retail collection points by selling the Smiths News Recycle offer to independent retail businesses that create dry mixed recycling within specified geographical locations.

If you have experience in field sales and can demonstrate your ability, you could join our field sales team with Instore on behalf of our parent company Smiths News.

This role requires full territory management across designated areas, involving visiting retailers to sell this new service offer. You will be the key person expected to communicate effectively and efficiently.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Drive service offer to meet KPIs across retailers, engaging business owners to complete sales.
  • Develop strong customer relationships within your sales territory and identify new opportunities.
  • Approach tasks with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Complete all relevant calls within the territory plan daily.
  • Develop a high-performing field mentality to deliver on KPIs.
  • Use effective communication to share best practices, keep Line Manager informed, and promote education and engagement with customers.
  • Escalate issues and find resolutions proactively.
  • Maintain expertise in the service offer to aid successful selling.
  • Execute tasks to a high standard consistently.
  • Provide quality feedback to line managers to help drive client’s business and retail growth strategies.
  • Complete administration tasks efficiently, ensuring high-quality work within time requirements.
  • Understand the retail landscape for competitive advantage.
  • Learn how the Smiths News delivery network operates.

To be successful, ideally you have :

  • Experience in sales or retail, preferably within FMCG or consumer goods.
  • Brand ambassador experience is a plus.
  • Strong relationship-building and sales techniques.
  • Experience in remote field activity and achieving sales targets / KPIs.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Proven success in sales conversions through education.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence and implement change.
  • Capacity to document ideas and actions to improve performance.
