The Role : Domiciliary Optometrist (Home Visiting Optician)

Location : Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Milton Keynes, Northampton, North West London

Employment Type : Full-Time, Permanent, Monday to Friday

Role Overview

As a Domiciliary Optometrist with Opticall, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive eye examinations and tailored optical solutions to residents in care homes. You will work collaboratively with care home staff, families, and our support team to ensure every patient receives the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough eye examinations and health assessments for care home residents

Digitally document clinical findings using our advanced Eye Care Portal and optical software

Prescribe and recommend spectacles and visual aids

Detect, manage, and refer ocular conditions as appropriate

Provide personalised advice to patients, families, and care teams

Collaborate with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and patient outcomes

Support and mentor team members; contribute to clinical innovation and service development

Qualifications

Required :

GOC-registered Optometrist

Full UK driving licence

Previous experience in domiciliary optometry

Preferred :

Strong clinical skills in eye examination, diagnosis, and ocular condition management

Compassionate communicator, experienced with elderly and dementia patients

Organised, adaptable, and able to work independently and in a team

Experience with digital patient record systems

Interest in clinical leadership, mentoring, or service innovation

Benefits Package

Competitive base salary (£75,000–£80,000) plus achievable bonus

Monday to Friday schedule – weekends always free

Paid GOC fees
