As the Deputy Matron your key responsibilities include :
Manage the ward / department, Team Leader, and clinical nurse specialists in assessing the clinical skills required to deliver a safe and quality serviceLead on identifying deficits and implement programmes to address the issuesUsing their knowledge and experience to work with the matron, drive up the standards of clinical careProvide strong leadership to their teams and ensure senior clinical presence on the ward / unitYou’ll manage quality improvement initiatives to drive up high quality clinical careInvestigate complex incidents and identify and implement corrective actionYou’ll act as a change agent and innovator, promoting an effective change culture within nursing teamsWork with the Matron in the financial management of the service being aware of budgets and working within themThe following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role :
Evidence of significant clinical experience in medical area and ability to function at level requiredKnowledge of NMC Codes and guidelines and their implications for practiceManagement qualification or working towards obtaining oneExperience of being involved in the implementation of changeExperience managing clinical auditsExperience of participating in the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluating of training programmes with clinical and non-clinical staffThe successful Deputy Matron will receive an excellent salary of £55,000 – £61,780 per annum.
