Job description

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Salaried GP, to work with us in our modern newly built Medical Centre in Acklam, Middlesbrough. Acklam is on the outskirts of Middlesbrough, close to the Cleveland Hills and North Yorkshire Moors.

This role is for 5 sessions per week on the following shift pattern.

TUESDAY - 8am-6pm

WEDNESDAY 8am-6pm

EVERY OTHER FRIDAY - 8am-6pm

You would be joining our friendly, supportive, and rapidly expanding team. Excellent clinical support is provided from our extended clinical team, including ANPs, First Contact Practitioner, Social Prescribers and Prescribing Pharmacist.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilities :

A variety of duties including surgeryconsultations, telephone consultations and queries, triage calls, triagevisits, checking and signing of electronic repeat prescriptions and dealingwith queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Assessingthe health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosedproblems.

Screeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

Inconsultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease managementprotocols, developing care plans for health.

Toassist in the establishment of appropriate systems to manage common chronicmedical conditions.

Completionof clinically related administrative and non clinical duties needed for thedelivery of the service.

Referpatients for further opinions and interventions according to Practice protocols.

Recordingclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

Compilingand issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoidinghand-written prescriptions wherever possible).

Ingeneral the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Maintaining, monitoring and updatingcomputer database and management of medical records and practice audits
