About Shufti

At Shufti, we’re building a high-energy, remote-first regtech start-up with global ambition. Our cutting-edge identity verification technology helps businesses stay compliant, reduce fraud, and onboard customers faster — all while delivering a seamless user experience.

With operations spanning multiple continents and a diverse, fast-growing team, we're scaling rapidly. As we enter our next phase of growth, we’re looking for a smart, commercially-minded Corporate / Commercial Legal Counsel to join us on the journey.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor with 1–2 years’ experience to make a real impact at a global tech start-up. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll be the go-to legal advisor for a wide range of commercial, corporate, and operational matters — with the opportunity to help shape legal frameworks and processes from the ground up.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role, ideal for someone looking to step out of private practice or build on in-house experience in a fast-paced, international environment.

What You'll Do

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including client agreements, supplier terms, NDAs, partnership and reseller agreements.
  • Provide legal support for corporate governance matters and company secretarial tasks.
  • Advise on international regulatory, compliance, and data protection considerations (in collaboration with compliance and infosec teams).
  • Support strategic projects such as fundraising, M&A, and international expansion.
  • Develop and maintain templates, playbooks, and internal processes to scale legal operations.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across sales, finance, compliance, HR, and product teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, helping balance risk with commercial priorities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified solicitor in the UK with around 1–2 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and / or commercial law.
  • Strong grounding in contract law, corporate structuring, and regulatory awareness.
  • Experience working in or advising tech companies or high-growth start-ups (in-house or private practice).
  • Comfort navigating cross-border legal issues and working with international stakeholders.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset — comfortable working independently and with ambiguity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to distil complex legal issues into practical advice.
  • High energy, adaptable, and eager to grow in step with the business.
  • What We Offer

  • A remote-first, flexible working environment.
  • A chance to work at the cutting edge of regtech innovation.
  • A fast-moving, supportive culture that values autonomy and creativity.
  • Direct exposure to leadership and real influence over company growth.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Ready to shape the legal foundation of a fast-growing global start-up?

We’d love to hear from you.
