Legal Secretary

23,000-£24,000, Ripon, office based, a 35 hour working week, 24 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays, closed between Christmas and New Year, full or part time hours considered.

We are currently recruiting a Legal Secretary or Assistant for the private client team in this well established firm of solicitors in Ripon. You will work in a small friendly team, providing legal administrative assistance to the fee earners. We are ideally looking for full time hours, working 35 hours per week, but could also consider a 4 day working week.

Legal Secretary Requirements :

  • To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing
  • Typing letters, file notes, wills, lasting power of attorneys (LPAs)
  • Opening files and preparing client documentation
  • Recording all correspondence on the system
  • Maintain up to date filing
  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality and security when dealing with sensitive information

We are ideally looking to fill a full time position, however would consider part time hours for the right candidate, preferably working 4 days a week.

This Legal Secretary role would suit someone who has worked in a similar environment, has previous experience working as a Legal Assistant, Secretary or Audio Typist or has excellent PA or administration skills.

Requirements :

  • Previous secretary experience
  • Proven audio typing and dictation experience
  • Experience as a Legal Secretary or Assistant preferred
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Legal qualifications would be a bonus
