Job description

Project Planner / Planning Engineer Derby (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home) Up to £55,000 + £4,800 car allowance + full permanent benefits package Utilities / Engineering / Construction background

What you'll be doing as a Project Planner / Planning Engineer :

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project programmes using Primavera P6
  • Supporting Project Managers and delivery teams with integrated plans that cover design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover
  • Creating baseline schedules to track performance and measure progress
  • Identifying critical paths, potential risks, and early warnings to keep delivery on track
  • Participating in project progress meetings and presenting planning updates to stakeholders
  • Supporting NEC contract compliance through planning documentation and change control
  • Helping to produce accurate project and programme-level reporting for business intelligence
  • Engaging with site teams, regional office staff, and stakeholders to support real-time delivery decisions

What you'll bring :

  • Proven experience as a Project Planner / Planning Engineer in construction, engineering, utilities or related infrastructure sectors
  • Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of NEC contract planning requirements
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and an ability to anticipate and mitigate risks
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the region when needed
