Job summary

Do you have experience in HIV / Sexual Health? Are you looking to further develop your clinical skills and expertise in HIV? Would you like to start HIV advanced clinical practice journey? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward thinking pharmacist, to join the Infection &Immunity team at Barts Health NHS Trust.

The post holder will be well integrated within the Infection & Immunity multidisciplinary team and work closely with the other members of the team to develop the service

The post holder will be involved in the following areas :

Provide high quality, patient centered, pharmacy services to GUM / Sexual reproductive health &hepatitis C.

Lead on projects and undertake service reviews

Have opportunity to develop leadership, governance and research skills.

Contribute to education & training for pharmacists and other health care professionals

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be supporting the CAG Lead pharmacist in leading a team of staff in the delivery of high quality clinical and CAG related pharmacy services to the speciality. In particular to be the site-lead for Infection & Immunity, with specialist cross site responsibility for Infection & Immunity pharmacy services.

The job description is not intended to be exhaustive and it is likely that duties may be altered from time to time in the light of changing circumstances and after consultation with the post-holder.

The post holder might be required to work across the Trust at any time throughout the duration of his / her contract, which may entail travel and working at different hospital.

Essential

  • Experience of providing a hospital-based service to HIV patients at band 7 level or equivalent.
  • Experience of providing evaluated information on drug expenditure.

Desirable

  • Experience of successfully managing staff.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work to deadlines.
  • Clinical appraisal skills.
  • Desirable

  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise and others.
  • Knowledge

    Essential

  • Excellent knowledge of the medical management of HIV patients.
  • A sound knowledge of drug and therapeutics at Diploma level or equivalent.
  • Desirable

  • Good knowledge of risk management issues relevant to the patient group and root cause analysis.
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • MRPharmS.
  • Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy / Pharmacy Practice or equivalent.
  • Desirable

  • Qualified as a Non-Medical Prescriber.
