Job Details

Job Role : Production Intern

Reporting To : Production Manager and Production Coordinators

Hours : 40 per week

Purpose : To assist the Production department in ensuring the on-time delivery of bulk production within the required delivery window, to quality standards set by the business whilst gaining experience in a production department.

NOTE :   The work experience placement is only available to students in tertiary education. There is no remuneration for this work placement; however, travel expenses will be covered up to £10 per day. The minimum length or the placement is 6 weeks or up to 6 months is accredited.

Experience will be gained in :

  • Working in a fast-paced designer brand production department
  • Working closely alongside Production Coordinators and technical team, supporting them with all aspects of the production process
  • Building on knowledge of production processes, raw materials, and technicalities of garments
  • Dividing and sending raw materials (fabrics and trims including labelling) to send to factories
  • Preparing courier shipments, organising courier collections, and updating team on shipments and completing all shipping paperwork as instructed and keeping shipment trackers up to date
  • Helping keep the production area and supplies organised and clearly labelled
  • Being responsible for collecting daily packages for the Production team and allocating as applicable
  • Day-to-day administrative tasks as required
  • Helping to prepare raw materials tech packs to send to factories
  • Visiting London based suppliers / dry cleaners to deliver or pick up parcels for urgent goods
  • Keeping department trackers and system up to date with relevant information as instructed
  • Communicating with suppliers and vendors as instructed.

About You :

  • A fluent level in English is essential. Additional Languages a plus
  • Basic knowledge of production methods, production cycle, fabrics, trims, and garments would be preferential
  • Ability to multitask, maintain focus and ensure accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, and time manage accordingly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate confidence and assertiveness
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Team Player
  • Software : working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular knowledge of excel is require
  • Must be flexible to adapt to changing trends of business
