Job description

We have a fantastic permanent, full time position for a Health & Safety Coordinator.

Purpose of the Role :

To provide support to the Health, Safety & Sustainability department by carrying out administration support and other duties as required and where necessary.

Key responsibilities :

  • Work as an integral member of the health & safety team and be prepared to offer support and help to all colleagues.
  • Provide assistance and support to the Deputy Health and Safety Manager in completion of administration duties, in particular but not limited to :
  • Input the departmental KPIs for the weekly Business Meeting, and produce KPI report.
  • Review and communicate the Site Action Plans and near misses each week.
  • Assist with the administration of site accidents and incidents.
  • Complete the Freiberger Report for absence and lost time.
  • Produce posters and update site noticeboards.
  • Review and update First Aider posters.
  • Assist with the completion and administration of departmental site inspections.
  • Assist with the completion and administration of First Aid Room inspections.
  • Assist with the completion and administration of Steps & Stair inspections.
  • Assist with the completion and administration of lighting inspections.
  • Assist with the completion and administration of First Aid Room inspections.
  • Assist with the completion and administration of Fire Evacuation Tests.
  • Assist with the auditing of Harness inspections.
  • Assist with the auditing of Spill Kit inspections.
  • Assist with the auditing of Ladder inspections.
  • Assist with the organising and administration of Occupational Health assessments.
  • Assist with the updating of various risk assessments.
  • Provide support in projects / new buildings / new machinery programmes as required.
  • Raise purchase orders and place orders with suppliers for any required equipment.
  • Assist with Health & Safety strategic projects.
  • Provide assistance and support in completion of Sustainability administration duties, in particular but not limited to :
  • Input the departmental KPIs for the weekly Business Meeting.
  • Assist with the processing of invoices from Electricity, Gas and Water suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate data energy and water services.
  • Assist with the completion of internal and external audits.
  • Assist with the completion of company reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings as necessary to fulfil duties.
  • Adhere to the company’s Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the company’s Hygiene and Food Safety policies and procedures.
  • To perform any other task that is of a reasonable request to support the Health, Safety and Sustainability department.

Skills and Experience required :

Be computer literate and have experience of Excel and Word.

Effective written and verbal communication.

Be highly numerate.

Have a keen eye for detail.

Have an excellent telephone manner.

Ability to ensure the highest standard of quality and health & safety are achieved.

Experience within a previous health & safety administration role.

Knowledge of health & safety legislation and requirements.
