We are looking to recruit 2 PM HGV Collections Driver Supervisors, to work within our team at Brighton and Hove City Council and would love to hear from you.

The 2 positions are:

• PM Driver Supervisor (Shift: 13.15hrs - 21.57hrs).

or

• Alternating AM/PM shift pattern (which rotates bi-weekly between 05:00hrs - 13.42hrs and 13:15hrs - 21.57hrs).

About the role

An HGV Driver is needed to drive Waste Collection vehicles for Brighton & Hove City council. This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team at Environmental Services to ensure our communities receive a great service so that we can make a real difference in our city You will:

• Be responsible for leading and supervising a small team of Operatives ensuring they complete their tasks and health and safety regulations are adhered to when undertaking the collection of refuse and recycling.
• Undertake daily vehicle inspections and providing customer focused service to complete the removal of household, recycling and other designated waste from a variety of locations.
• Maintain respectful working relationships and communicate with politeness and courtesy with both colleagues and members of the public.
• Ensure all relevant council policies, procedures, values and behaviours are understood and followed.

Requirements:

• An HGV C CATEGORY Drivers Licence.
• A valid CPC card and Tacho Card.
• Management/supervising or relevant experience.

Salary

Scale 6.

£37,260 - £39,163 (for 41 hrs including 4 hrs contracted overtime), plus the opportunity for overtime and Bank holidays for RSG enhancements.

It is essential that you to have an HGV C CATEGORY Drivers Licence and a valid CPC card.

Additional informationYour starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
