    Our client is a large public sector organization that provides essential services to the community in Wakefield.

    Job Description

    • Processing weekly and monthly payroll for staff.
    • Ensuring accurate and timely submissions of payroll to HMRC.
    • Handling payroll queries and resolving them effectively.
    • Maintaining accurate records of staff leave and sickness absence.
    • Assisting with year-end processes such as P60 distribution.
    • Performing routine audits of payroll procedures and data.
    • Adhering to company policies and regulations at all times.
    • Working closely with the Accounting & Finance team to ensure smooth operations.
    • The Successful Applicant

      A successful Payroll Assistant should have :

    • A good understanding of payroll legislation and processes.
    • An ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
    • Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail.
    • Good organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and payroll software.
    • A team player attitude with excellent communication skills.
