Job summary

Valley Medical Centre is seeking to recruit a nursing associate to join our team of GP's, pharmacist, Advanced Practitioner, nurses, HCA's, receptionists, and admin.

This is an exciting opportunity for an existing nursing associate or a health care assistant who would like to develop and train to become a nursing associate, to join Valley Medical Centre.

Job Responsibilities include :

  • Support the practice nurse with health promotion programmes.
  • Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately.
  • Facilitate ABPI
  • Administer injections.
  • Carry out NHS Health Checks
  • Carry out phlebotomy.
  • Deliver clinical sessions for the management of chronic disease clinics.
  • Act as a chaperone as required
  • Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation.
  • Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session.
  • Ensure fridges are monitored and cleaned routinely.
  • Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy.
  • Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate.

  • Qualifications if already qualified as a nursing associate.
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register.
  • Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
  • Training if applying as a HCA wishing to train as a nursing associate
  • Training and experience as a HCA, working in Primary Care

  • Currently working in Primary Care
