Expanding Accountancy firm based in Preston seek a Graduate Finance Assistant to join the National Finance Team. The role will involve data manipulation, financial reporting and analysis, the interpretation and provision of insight, along with aspects of financial administration in support of the Commercial Finance operation. It will also include involvement in the month end reporting cycle and the annual budgeting process.

Core Duties :

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the business and its internal finance reporting systems and methodologies
  • Apply business understanding to enable improved operational performance to be delivered within the business service lines through the production of accurate and meaningful management information with an appropriate layer of insight
  • Assist the Commercial Finance Lead in supporting the firm’s service line heads, helping to drive performance improvement in areas such as :
  • Financial-related working practices

    Efficient use of resources

    Profitability on jobs

    Working capital management

  • Adopt best practice in the production and use of management information and key performance indicators
  • Develop an understanding of the firm’s culture and strategy and how change is achieve
  • Build excellent working relationships with appropriate stakeholders and particularly with other members of the Commercial Finance team
  • Undertake specific related projects as agreed
  • Ideal Candidates :

  • A-Level or equivalent qualifications including GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English or with some equivalent accountancy qualification or experience
  • IT proficient with strong MS Excel skills
  • A credible individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise own workload effectively
  • Resilient and persevering to achieve deadlines or resolve problems
