Why Rolls-Royce?

Join us and we’ll provide an environment where you can be yourself. An inclusive, digital-first culture that invests in you, gives you a platform for continuous learning, and access to an incredible breadth and depth of opportunities to grow your career.

This is a full-time role with much of the working week spent at our main site in Derby, but with periodic delivery at other locations as required. Due to the security classification of our material, there will be a requirement to be in office five days a week when training is being delivered. Flexible working (including working from home) is possible outside of these periods. Having a Full UK Driving Licence is required to support this role.

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

  • You will support updates of current courseware including the design and development of future training solutions in support of user requirements.
  • You will support activities to maintain our accreditation as a training provider and maintain compliance against our internal governance processes.
  • You will occasionally travel to other UK sites to deliver courses / represent the training team will be required, this may include overnight stays.

Who we’re looking for :

At Rolls-Royce we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. These principles form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria :

  • A recognised Teaching Qualification in the Lifelong Learning Sector, or demonstratable equivalent experience gained within the workplace, supported by a professional portfolio.
  • Degree or equivalent curriculum experience in Engineering or Science disciplines is highly desirable.
  • Theoretical and operational knowledge of Pressure Water Reactors (PWR) and NSRP systems and equipment or good understanding of engineering science (Physics, Material and Chemistry) is highly desirable but not essential as an in-depth training package can be provided.
  • Confident communicator with excellent presentation skills, and a passion to deliver training and develop others.
  • A strong team player and an ability to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
  • This role may suit either an experienced Component / Systems Engineer, a Nuclear Submarine Engineering Watchkeeper (CAT A or CAT B), or someone from an educational background with the ability to work in the adult educational sector.
  • We are an equal opportunities employer. We’re committed to developing a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment. We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives. And the more perspectives we have, the more successful we’ll be.
