ESS Employment are recruiting a Planner / Estimator for our Yate based client. This is an office-based position, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

To interpret customer engineering drawings and specifications
To prepare accurate costs for materials, labour, and services IFS ERP system to prepare customer quotations.
To respond to technical queries raised by customers and suppliers.
To generate estimates for bought out items, engineering costs etc.
To seek out new suppliers and sub-contractors to achieve the best ‘value for money’ and ‘competitive lead times’
To provide detailed manufacturing steps including tooling, bills of material and process routings
To cover purchasing during busy periods
To work with managers and supervisors to implement the company’s policies and business objectives.
Carry out any other duties reasonable and within capability.

Personal Profile

Commercial engineering experience required i.e., toolroom background (preferably in the Aerospace Industry)

Effective oral and written communication required.

Must be PC literate and competent in Microsoft Office

Able to work under own initiative.

Flexible, courteous, friendly and positive approach.

Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Experience and Qualifications :

Must have worked as part of a team.

Experience of working to deadlines

Recognised engineering trade qualification required.

Experience of using an ERP system an advantage

Purchasing also an advantage
