Were looking for a Design Engineer to help create safe efficient substation designs (up to 132kV).

Our projects involve the replacement of existing electrical assets on our electricity distribution network from 11 - 132kV. Youll be involved in project planning stakeholder coordination and ensuring CDM compliance.

If you bring relevant experience a solid understanding of substation systems and a full driving licence wed love to hear from you!

You will :

  • Develop detailed buildable project designs that comply with SSEN standards and specifications.
  • Produce verify and approve design calculations to ensure cost-effective compliant solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders during design development and specify primary plant items with an understanding of their interaction.
  • Provide technical support across the team including temporary works and site-specific detailed designs.
  • Coordinate pre-construction activities prepare tender documentation track design progress and ensure CDM 2015 compliance and financial governance.

You have :

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of power system substation design and operation up to 132kV.
  • A qualification (minimum of HNC level) in a relevant discipline or have demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of working under engineering design governance structures and experience of preparing tender documentation.
  • You are a Principal Designer and have an excellent understanding of the Principal Designer Role in accordance with the CDM Regulations.
  • A full current driving licence.
