More detail about the role
Having GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics and qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent are required along with previous healthcare experience or experience in a food related environment. You need a desire to work with patients and the Healthcare team and to be enthusiastic, organised, flexible and a team player.
The role will involve supporting the renal dietetic team to provide a service to renal inpatients and outpatients under the care of Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be a key link between the Renal Dietetic team and the renal inpatient ward. They will review patients nutritional intake after assessment and plan made by the registered dietitian. They may make alterations to nutritional care plans (within protocols and scope of practice) as they monitor patient progression.
Any patient falling outside their scope of practice, or who are deteriorating, are referred onto the registered dietitian. The post holder will regularly work independently with the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.
The role has an administrative element including office organisation duties and preparing, agendas / note taking at team meetings. Please refer to the job description for further details.
Training will be given and there will be an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills through the Trusts Personal Development Review process.

Working Pattern : hours per week. Monday to Friday 8 : 30 to16 : 30.

Pay : The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023 / 24 | NHS Employers).
