About The Role

Here at Liverpool Football Club, we are recruiting for a Junior Travel Chef to join our team. This role involves extensive travel and requires providing tailored, performance-focused meals. The ideal candidate will have a high level of food knowledge, the ability to plan and implement nutritionally balanced meals, and an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Professional Cookery.

What will you be doing?

  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, storage, and kitchen hygiene, whether working in a team facility, hotel, or temporary kitchen setup.
  • Understand government guidelines on allergens and labeling.
  • Learn and execute nutritionally optimized meal plans based on individual player requirements, dietary restrictions, and performance goals.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef, Senior Sous Travel Chef, logistics teams, and hotels / restaurants to ensure seamless food provision during travel, including sourcing high-quality ingredients.
  • Collaborate with sports nutritionists to adapt recipes as needed.
  • Prepare meals tailored to various dietary needs, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and allergy-friendly options, without compromising taste or performance.
  • Deliver a high-end culinary experience focusing on presentation, taste, and consistency to ensure athletes receive top-tier service.
  • Understand the needs of coaching staff, nutritionists, and medical teams to align food preparation with training and competition schedules.
  • Stay interested in and open to emerging trends in sports nutrition and performance-focused cuisine.

Who are we looking for?

You should possess an NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent (Level 3 is desirable), with previous professional chef experience in creating flavourful, nutrient-dense meals that meet high-performance sport demands. You should have the ability to plan and prepare meals efficiently.

This role involves extensive travel and requires providing tailored, performance-focused meals supporting training, recovery, and competition schedules. Some expertise in meal planning and high-quality cooking is essential.
