Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a busy team in the plastic manufacturing industry. In the Droitwich area.

Full Training Provided. Immediate Start.

A Water Jet Operator in the plastics industry is responsible for operating and maintaining water jet cutting machines used to cut, shape, or trim plastic materials to precise specifications. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of the water jet cutting process.

Key Responsibilities :

Setup and Operation :

Prepare and calibrate water jet cutting machines for daily operations.

  • Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and specifications to program the water jet machine.
  • Load plastic materials (sheets, blocks, etc.) onto the cutting table securely.

Cutting Process :

Operate the water jet machine to cut, shape, or form plastic components according to specifications.

  • Monitor the cutting process to ensure precision and quality.
  • Adjust settings such as water pressure, abrasive levels, and cutting speed as needed.

    • Inspection and Quality Control :

    Inspect finished products for dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

  • Use measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify tolerances.
  • Identify and address any defects or inconsistencies.

    • Machine Maintenance :

    Perform routine maintenance, such as nozzle replacement and cleaning of the water jet machine.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions.
  • Report major mechanical issues to the maintenance team.

    • Safety and Compliance :

    Follow all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Comply with company policies and industry standards regarding machine operation and material handling.

    • Collaboration :

    Work with engineers, designers, and supervisors to ensure designs are feasible and meet project requirements.

  • Provide feedback on production processes for continuous improvement.

    • Hours and Pay : Monday - Friday.

  • 5.45am - 1.45pm.
  • 12.10 per hour.
