Job description

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Food you will work closely with a premium retailer to create delicious products that are seasonal, on trend and first to market. You’ll be working with the team to drive the NPD pipeline ensuring you bring the food agenda to life, manage product briefs to revitalise existing ranges as well as creating new concepts. Your products not only need to taste amazing but also need to be on point commercially.

You will be developing recipes using your culinary, ingredients and food trends knowledge, making sure they are in line with customer expectations and consumer trends. The role will also include researching new ideas, preparing customer samples, conducting competitive shopping, working with ingredient suppliers, internal presentations and supporting with customer meetings / presentations.

The role would suit a confident and accomplished NPD Chef who has a real passion for food, gets giddy about new ideas and concepts with the ability to inspire others. As well as having enviable culinary prowess, you will ideally have showcased your skills as a development chef within a fast paced food manufacturing business. Experience of working with retail / major multiple customers would be an advantage.

However, the role would also suit an extremely talented chef with fine dining experience who is keen to find their first role within NPD.

Articulate and confident, you’ll have great commercial acumen and an eye for trends. You will also boast marvellous communication skills which enable you to present succinct ideas and findings internally and with customers.
